Current Vietnam Visa rules

As you might know, the Vietnam e-visa is only available for a list of 80 countries and valid for 30 days. And the visa exemption policy is available for 13 countries, but DOES NOT INCLUDE the United States.

When will the rules change?

In January, officials discussed possible changes to Vietnam’s visa policies to create favorable conditions for foreigners to enter the country. They proposed visa exemptions on arrival for more nationalities and an extension of the e-visa program. These changes aim to facilitate longer stays for expats to live in Vietnam.

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, signed the proposal on behalf of the Government. It has been submitted to the National Assembly for the 5th joint resolution in Hanoi, which will take place next May
